Sync's Andy Crain served as Waymo's testifying forensic expert in the landmark autonomous-vehicle trade-secret case. He conducted the underlying analysis, authored the expert reporting, and testified at trial – including findings that thousands of proprietary files had been copied to a personal device. Waymo settled mid-trial for an Uber equity stake valued at roughly $245 million.

Retained by the prosecution in a major federal criminal trade-secrets matter, our lead forensic expert performed the technical analysis underlying the government's case and testified at trial. The work centered on tracing how disputed proprietary data left a U.S. company and moved overseas to a foreign competitor – reconstructing how the files were accessed, handled, and transferred across organizations and international borders. The findings were presented in open court and tested under cross-examination in one of the most closely watched economic-espionage prosecutions in recent years.

When a crypto-focused bank voluntarily wound down, we took possession of and assumed full operational responsibility for nearly 100 terabytes of data spread across roughly 400 distinct platforms – not endpoints, but entire systems. Over the past two years we've served as the central broker for all legal process against the estate, fielding dozens of eDiscovery and subpoena requests in coordination with counsel, the Department of Justice, the FDIC, and California's Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). We continue to manage the environment and service requests for the foreseeable future.
