Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

Sync Forensics ("Sync Forensics," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit syncforensics.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy covers only information collected through our public website. It does not describe how we handle data in the course of our forensic, e-discovery, or expert-witness engagements. Information processed as part of a client matter is governed by our engagement agreements, applicable protective orders or court rules, and our chain-of-custody and confidentiality obligations — not by this policy.

1. Who We Are

The data controller responsible for your information is:

Sync Forensics, LLC Email: info@syncforensics.com

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you submit our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, company name (optional), email address, and any message you choose to include. If you contact us directly by email, we receive whatever information you include in that message.

Information collected automatically. Our Site is hosted on the Wix platform. When you visit, Wix automatically collects standard technical and usage information on our behalf, which may include your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).

We do not use the Site to knowingly collect special categories of personal data (such as health, biometric, or financial information), and we ask that you not submit such information through the contact form.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about our services;

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;

  • Understand how visitors use the Site through aggregate analytics;

  • Send occasional updates, news, or marketing communications about Sync Forensics where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law (you can opt out at any time — see Section 9); and

  • Comply with our legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

4. Cookies and Analytics

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies provided through the Wix platform. These include cookies that are necessary for the Site to function and cookies that help us understand how the Site is used through Wix's built-in analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or third-party advertising or marketing pixels on the Site.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site function. For more detail on the cookies set by the Wix platform, see Wix's cookie information at https://support.wix.com/en/article/cookies-and-your-wix-site.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors that operate the Site and support our business, including Wix (website hosting, forms, and analytics) and our email and productivity providers. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.

  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property or that of others.

  • Business transfers. If Sync Forensics is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for sending you marketing or update communications, where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.

  • Legitimate interests — to respond to your inquiries, operate and secure the Site, and understand how it is used, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and the providers that support our Site (including Wix) may store and process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

8. Data Retention

We keep contact-form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for our legitimate business and record-keeping purposes, after which we delete or anonymize the information. Analytics data is retained according to the Wix platform's standard retention periods. You may ask us to delete your information as described in Section 9.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Everyone

You may contact us at info@syncforensics.com to ask about the information we hold about you. To unsubscribe from our updates, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or email us directly, and we will stop sending them.

EEA and UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it;

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;

  • Correct inaccurate personal information; and

  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by law. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link is required.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@syncforensics.com. We will verify your request, typically by confirming details associated with your information, and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law permits.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for a professional and business audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and post the updated version on this page. Material changes will be made clear by appropriate means.
